Description
Southeast Asia, Indonesia, probably Java, 19th century CE. In a word, WOW!!! A breathtaking, antique Javanese diamond, silver, and rose gold Kraton (Palace) belt buckle accompanied by a pair of matching attachments, comprised of 94 bezel set rose cut diamonds totalling close to 10 total karats, pierced silver, and rose gold. Buckles like this were worn in the palaces, hence the name Kraton (Palace) Belt Buckles, as part of court dress for male courtiers. Similar examples may be found in a book entitled, "Indonesian Ornamental Design" - The Pepin Press. Rare to find such a spectacular set! Custom stand. Size: belt buckle measures 1.625" W x 3.375" H (4.1 cm x 8.6 cm); attachments 1.125" in diameter x 1.25" L (2.9 x 3.2 cm)
