Description
An appealing little mid-Victorian dollhouse, formerly from the collection of the late Evelyn Ackerman featuring a three-bay dark faux masonry facade and darker faux slate roof. Prominent bay windows are featured on the ground floor flanking an oak door beneath a glazed transom. The hinged facade opens in two sections to four rooms decorated with several layers of old wallpapers. The rear walls are removable for access from the rear. Extensive renovations include work around the interior doorways and repairs to the sides of the house where the hinges have been relocated. All doors are replacements. Some touch-up to exterior painted surfaces and some window trim is missing. The front windows are dressed with curtains made from antique fabrics and lace beneath wooden pelmets. The fireplaces appear to be original. Each room has a carpet including two woven tapestry pieces and a small area rug contrived from a an antique petitpoint purse. This house was featured in the March 2016 issue of Antique Doll Collector Magazine. 27" H, 30" W, 17" D. Four interior rooms: two are 9" H and 16.5"W, two are same height and 11.5" W.
