Description
Description: Circa 1856 U.S. Presidential Election Third Party Historical Memorabilia. Printed cloth broadside to promote "National American" or "Know Nothing" party candidates. For President, Millard Filmore, and for Vice-President, Andrew Donelson. It is interesting to note that former President Fillmore refused to join the Republican Party and was nominated by the American Party. This textile ballot is printed on cotton cloth with various "National American" party electors. Research indicates these ballots were used in Pennsylvania.
Dimensions: Approximate ballot size is 17-5/8 x 10-1/2 inches (a nice frameable size for display).

Condition: numerous separations along creases which have fabric tape reinforcements throughout on the reverse. loss of text at "DONELSON". overall light soiling, toning, and raw cut edges.
