MAITLAND SMITH, AMERICAN FEDERAL STYLE, MAHOGANY SECRETARY, LATE 20TH C, H 92", W 35", D 21":Maitland Smith, American federal style mahogany secretary, having an open pediment with carved gilt wood eagle finial. Upper mirrored beveled glass cabinet door opening to two shelves with fluted corner posts supporting the doors, all above two narrow candle shelves and center snuffer drawer. Lower section has a slant top which opens to ten tiered small drawers with cubicles, five per side and flank two faux book letter storage compartments and small center cabinet and drawer. Leather writing surface on inside of slant top. Lower section has three narrow drawers, two half width drawers and two full width drawers at the bottom. Supported by bracket feet. Brass hanging pulls and hardware.
