Description
A late Victorian silver and gold diamond brooch, circa 1880. Of openwork design, the replacement brilliant-cut diamond, within a series of graduated similarly replacement brilliant-cut diamond and single-cut diamond scalloped surrounds. Estimated total diamond weight 4.20cts, I-K colour, SI2-P1 clarity. Diameter 2.7cms. Weight 9gms.
Overall condition fair to good. Some surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and minor dents in keeping with general age and wear. Almost all diamonds appear to be replacements. Replacement clasp. Diamonds fairly well matched. Individual size and setting of some diamonds prevents accurate colour and clarity assessment. Diamonds with scattered, varied inclusions.
