A Russian jeweled gold and guilloché enamel pendant, master AF, Moscow, circa 1899-1908. In art nouveau taste, the shaped gold border formed and chased in imitation of sinuous leaves containing a panel of enameled translucent strawberry red over a starburst ground, centered with a collet-set Old European cut diamond, the enclosed back with an aperture to allow the stone greater light, struck with Cyrillic initials АФ (AF) of an unrecorded Moscow goldsmith. Dimensions (not including suspension ring): 1 1/8 x 7/8 in. (3 x 2 cm).
