This is an ORIGINAL ANTIQUE RELIGIOUS PENDANT that was HANDMADE during the 1920s from 18K GOLD. It ORIGINATES from FRANCE and has old stamps on bale. The pendant displays a RELIEF of a BAPTISMAL SCENE with one WINGED ADULT FEMALE & ONE MALE ADULT. The pendant is finely detailed with PLIQUE-A-JOUR TRANSLUCENT ENAMEL of BLUE SKY, RED & GREEN with a YELLOW HALO over the male. *Plique-? -jour (French for "letting in daylight") is a vitreous enameling technique, that is a lost art, where the enamel is applied in cells and has no backing so light can shine through the translucent enamel. It is like a miniature version of stained glass that is very technically challenging with a high failure rate. The pendant is framed with NATURAL PEARLS and it measures almost 1-3/16"? in diameter. There is one small ROSE CUT DIAMOND at the top center. The back has a personal engraving that reads Recuerdo de Abuelita, which is Spanish for "?remembering grandma' and it is dated 10.12.1933, which is Dec. 10, 1933. The total weight is 9.4 grams.
