Chinese, likely late 19th/ early 20th century Qing Dynasty. A pair of finely carved soapstone figural bird sculptures in mirrored formation, each bird depicted seated holding the stem of a dangling lotus blossom to beak with head in a 3/4 turn, one polished and one with raw texture, surmounting a separable carved hand stained hardwood stand. Unmarked. Approximate height on stand 4.25", width 5.25", depth 1.875".
