Description
A Phoenician bronze applique in the form of a human head, c. 7th – 3rd Century BC, one side in the form of a facing head with long locks of hair and detailed features, the opposite side in the form of a lion’s head, the mouth open with protruding tongue. An interesting piece with attractive patination. 35 x 30 x 38mm. Custom lucite base. Ex-Hamedian Gallery, Jerusalem.
