Description
A pair of framed Japanese woodblocks after paintings by Kin-u Takeshita. Flower Cart in Autumn and Flower Cart in Winter. Sight measurements 9.75" x 15". Framed and matted under glass measuring 14.5" x 20".
CONDITION NOTE: one with water staining to a corner of the matting, see photos.
HISTORY NOTE: Thought to be the student of Hogai Kano, Kin-u Takeshita worked during the Meiji period. He primarily painted genre scenes, landscapes, and kacho-e, or bird-and-flower prints. In the 1950s, the publisher Uchida released prints of Takeshita's paintings.
