Description

A Rare QianLong period Chinese lacquered covered box. Having four ruyi shaped reliefs formed a tapered Quadra-petals Flori-form body; red lacquered. Richly decorated in graissele and gilt of butterflies flying over geometrical floral motifs. The interior left ebony lacquered.

Mark on base, six gold script -KaiShu- characters, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing (1736-1796), and of the period.
