Important, large Chinese Ming Dynasty WuCai porcelain fish pond. Having thick potted cylindrical shaped body, with wider opening and flat base. The exterior decorated with hand painting in WuCai design of vigorous dragons flying between flames and floral blossoms above band of LiShui wavy water and rocky mountain. Banded with scrolling pattern under the rim. The underglazed stopping before the foot rim, with underside left unglazed, revealed the pale-creme base with orange-brownish spots in the firing. Proportionally displayed on carved hardwood stand.

Mark under the rim, six blue script -KaiShu- Characters, enclosed within rectangular frame border, WanLi Reign Period of Great Ming.
