FINE QING DYNASTY PERIOD, CHINESE SINO-TIBETAN BRONZE BUDDHA FIGURE OF DHARMAPALA YAMANTAKA AS VAJRABHAIRAVA.
Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) Period, and of Period 18th/19th C.
The bronze finely casted resemble one of Dharmapala manifestations of Yamantaka as Vajrabhairava, with Wrathful in appearance he has the head of a buffalo, three round eyes, sharp horns entwined with flame, fierce and angry. Adorned with a crown of skulls and bone ornaments, he wears a necklace of fifty freshly severed heads. Appearing extremely animate he stands with his right leg bent and the left extended. Depicted with his female partner, Yogini, while his multiple arms extended in a circle formed various hand gestures created the aura chakra nimbus surrounding the body. Standing in pratyalidhasana on animals and consort deities, upon an oval lotus throne.
