Description

Shemirat HaLashon, articles regarding guarding one's speech, by [Rabbi Yisrael Meir HaKohen of Radin]. 1876. First edition. Note in the author's hand.
[1 front jacket title] 76 pages, 22 cm. Leaf 14 has a handwritten comment, a correction made in future editions, apparently in the hand of the Chafetz Chaim, who inspected every one of his books before it was sold to make sure he wasn'tÂ cheating the purchaser. On the back of the leaf [p. 28] there is an additional, unclear, handwritten correction.
The first edition of the Chafetz Chaim's famed work. One of his first works, printed without his name (other than the Cyrillic letters in the margins of the title page: "I. M. Kagan").
The first jacket title page is printed on yellow paper. This jacket is not listed bibliographically. The Sefat TamimÂ bookletÂ was inserted in some copies.
New binding. Minimal worming holes and aging stains. Fine condition.Â
