Set of 4 vintage safari chairs labeled Col. Jim Corbett, 1910, Safari, folding weathered oak and leather, bronze oval plaque on each right arm reading "Col Jim Corbett, 1910, Sarari". 46" H x 21 1/4" W x 19 1/2" D. Edward James "Jim" Corbett (1875-1955) was a British hunter, turned conservationist, author and naturalist, famous for hunting a large number of man-eating tigers and leopards in India. He played a key role in establishing the Hailey National Park in 1936 to protect the endangered Bengal tiger, now called the Jim Corbett National Park. Condition
Overall weathering to leather and wood. Some separation of canvas lining from leather seats. Structurally sound.
