Description
Central America, Guatemala, ca. mid-20th century CE. A hand carved wooden slingshot depicting a human figure with a goatee and mustache, a fringe of bangs, wide open almond-shaped eyes, and a straight nose, with his hands clasped over his abdominal area, nicely burnished. Created in Guatemala where the word for slingshot is ondilla or hondilla. A wonderful work of folk art! Size: 4.25" L x 1.5" W (10.8 cm x 3.8 cm)
Provenance: Ex - Adeon Gallery, Nick Poolos collection acquired before 1975.
