Description
100 Aspects of the Moon (Tsuki hyakushi)
Comments - A wonderful print of the Monk In'ei, head priest of the Hozo Temple in Nara. He was famous for inventing the distinctive crescent shaped spear. Here, Yoshitoshi suggests the inspiration for the spear as he glances into the water and views the crescent moon reflected with his long staff. Fantastic Yoshitoshi design.
