AMERICAN COTTON CANDLEWICK EMBROIDERY COUNTERPANE, with cutouts for bed posts, whitework having spread-wing eagles with shields, flowering plants in pots, pairs of birds, zig-zag border; constructed from three plain-weave cotton panels. Circa 1825. 102" x 104".
Fair condition with scattered old repairs/patches, staining.
Provenance: Property Deaccessioned from the Mount Vernon Ladies' Association.
