Description

A fine pair of ARP gents badges, in sterling Silver, England, circa 1938. These regal badges were issued in Great Britain, preceding and during WWII to Air Raid Precautions Wardens (ARP) after the completion of their training. Both men and women were received badges. This is the gentleman's lapel version, the women's badge had a clasp pin to the back. Both pieces are in very good vintage condition showing only general signs of wear. They weigh approximately 18.95 grams together and each measure 1.5 inches (3.8 cm) tall by 1.02 inches (2.6 cm wide). They bear a full set of English hallmarks: the silver standard mark, the London city mark, the designers stamp J.C and the letter C year mark for 1938. Wearable history!
