Late 19th/early 20th century, each signed E. Rouly, each with a domed cover over a waisted gilt-highlighted burgundy-ground neck centering a circular reserve decorated with a courting couple, issuing from a pulled ovoid body mounted with foliate-clad gilt-bronze handles and painted with courting couples in bucolic scenes, over a stepped widening foot atop a squared gilt-bronze plinth, 2 pieces, each: 66'' H x 22'' W x 19'' D, est: $8000/10,000

Condition
Each in overall good condition; a combination of transfer and hand-painted decoration. Scattered minor scratches and rubbed wear to gilt-painted decoration commensurate with age. One with an approximately 3.5'' hairline crack to rim of lid and shallow surface chips to body near neck and foot, the largest approximately .5'' x .25''. Each with crazing to glaze commensurate with age.
