Maya Spider Monkey Vessel from the highlands of Guatemala, probably Kaminaljuyu area, Las Charcas phase, ca. 1000-600 B.C. Hand modeled buff earthenware with cream slip and red paint; burnished. Manganese dioxide blooms, soil deposits and root markings attesting to its age.
