Comprises: 1.) Iowa Democratic "National Ticket" ballot with Benjamin F. Butler for President, Absalom M. West for Vice President, and a list of Presidential Electors. Also lists congressional, state, and county candidates. 2.) Small folio, 3 page campaign song "Three Cheers for Bonny Ben," sheet music by James C. Beckel, Philadelphia, PA., 1884. 3.) Two political cartoons on one sheet from Harper's Weekly, dated August 30, 1884. 4.) Massachusetts "Democratic Union Ticket" with Butler running as Governor and S.C. Bemis as his Lieutenant. 5.) Massachusetts Ward 3, Precinct 2 "Regular Democratic Ticket," with Butler running as Governor and John F. Arnold as his Lieutenant. 6.) 1 page, 8vo, autograph letter signed "Benj. Butler," while U.S. Representative, Washington D.C., February 13, 1877. Addressed to New York City attorney Sidney Webster, Butler gives assurances that a debt of $5,000 will be paid to Webster by the N.Y.S. Attorney General. 7.) Printed 16mo 14 page facsimilie of Life Magazine's January 4, 1883 edition containing political cartoons of Butler. 8.) Carte de visite albument portrait of Butler in a waist length pose wearing his General's uniform. 9.) 1878 or 1880 New Hampshire green printed "Regular Greenback Ticket" ballot with Warren G. Brown for Governor. Bears large vignette at head depicting a a farmer and a blacksmith with the caption below "We want more Greenbacks and less Bonds."
