Description
Watercolor or red poster paint and pencil on cardboard, figure of a bird, attributed to Bill Traylor (1854-1947). Signed. Circa 1940. There is a small hole at the center top of the cardboard; a few tiny areas of restoration (appear to have been done perhaps with colored pencil), otherwise very good condition. Signed. 10 5/8 x 14 inches. Removed from frame for inspection and shipping.

Provenance: Property from a private estate, Dallas, TX. The reverse of the drawing is inscribed: Miss Dorothy Adair, 712 Randolph Street, Montgomery. Dorothy Adair lived with her grandmother at 712 Randolph Street, Montgomery, Alabama, in 1940, according to U.S. Census records. We have no other information about Dorothy Adair.
