Description
This perfume bottle is octogonal in shape with a mazarine blue base, hand-applied enamel, and gilt. The sides of the bottle are decorated with pink, green, and blue enamel in the shape of flowers and birds. The top is gilded with a potentially original brass lid.

Condition: Some loss to the gilt along the top as well as the lining above the base. Rubbing to the base and a hairline split at the lip. Lid questionably original.
History: The Sevres Manufacture was founded in 1738 as the Manufacture de Vincennes. It was a producer of hard-paste porcelain, one of the first in Europe, after 1780. The characteristic blue to their porcelain and the glaze comes from a cobalt oxide used in the production process.
