History: "David Rouzier, (1934 ) was born in Port-au-Prince. He left school in 1949 to enroll at the Centre d'art, where he began to study painting under Andre Normil. Rouzier with an analytical turn of mind, was not satisfied with primitive solutions to the problems of painting and joined those sophisticated artists who left the Centre d'art to establish the Foyer Des Arts Plastiques Gallery in 1959. There, working with Rene Exume and Emanuel Jolicoeur, he set himself to the task of creating a strong impression of depth in his paintings of peasants in country landscapes. He returned to the Art Center again in 1964. "He has been exhibited in Haiti, in Canada, and the U.S. Illustration of his art can be seen in the catalog "Twenty years of collecting at the Waterloo Museum of Art" (Iowa)."
