DESCRIPTION: Salvador Dali (Spanish, 1904-1989). Limited edition signed lithograph entitled "Goddess of Justice". Framed in silver metal frame with off-white matboard. Signed in lower right and numbered 149/150. Depicts personification of the virtue "Justice" holding a sword and a pair of scales against a blue, water-like background. Includes a copy of the COA from Original Print Collectors Group Ltd. with copy of letter dated May 15, 1974. Referenced on page 182 The Official Catalog of the Graphic Works of Salvador Dali by Albert Field. Dali was born May 11, 1904 in Figueres, Spain. From an early age Dali was encouraged to practice his art and would eventually go on to study at an academy in Madrid. In the 1920's Dali went to Paris and began interacting with Picasso, Magritte, and Miro leading to his first Surrealist phase. The rise of the fascist leader Franco in Spain led to Dali's expulsion from the Surrealist movement, but that did not prevent him from painting. MEASUREMENTS: 18-5/8" x 27". Overall with frame: 25" x 32-7/8". CONDITION: Minor toning consistent with age. Minor wear to frame consistent with handling.
