Description
Joseph Schachtel/ Charlottenbrunn (German (Silesia), 1859-1920), circa late 19th century. An Art Nouveau porcelain center bowl of round form raised on a waisted ring foot, the whole covered in emerald green glaze broken down into seven trapezoidal cartouches bordered in gold and topped with band of large gilt grape leaves suspending a cluster of grapes over each cartouche, the interior glazed in dusty pink and bearing further gilt grape leaf and cluster band along rim. Underside with impressed maker's mark "J.S. / GERMANY" under three fleur de lis marks, also with impressed numeral 4. Approximate diameter 17", height 7.875".
