Description
Feliciano Bejar (American/ Mexican, 1920-2007). "Magiscope" - 1985, reclaimed industrial parts and cut glass, signed and dated to lens. A sculpture composed of repurposed iron auto and industrial parts to form a tall shaft resembling a skeletal spine, surmounted with a cut glass lens with 50 overlapping concave and convex circles that create magnified and altered images when peered through, the lens encircled by sawtooth iron ring. Approximately 43.75" tall, 14.25" wide (diameter of lens), 10.5" deep.
Condition
Some accretions and minor scratching to glass. Oxidation to frame and stand overall, with some surface scratching. Possible area of ground repair on base of frame, in addition to some minor white paint accretions. No other visible signs of damage or repair.
