Description
Delft (Holland), 18th century. An unusual pair of Rouen Style figural faience pottery candlestick or candleholders in blue and white modeled as seated winged griffins, the candlecup with scalloped rim supported by the griffin having green eyes and open mouth seat on haunches with single scrolled wing to the backside and curling tail. Marked on one griffin underside 'DELFT 1307". Approximate height 9.37", width 3.5"(front leg to leg), depth 5" (front leg to tail).
