Description
Chinese, circa 1950s. A series of four hand painted famille rose enamel porcelain plaques of vertical rectangular form comprising one depicting a single phoenix, one depicting a pair of butterflies, one depicting a pair of cranes, and one depicting two phoenix birds, each composition depicting the birds in verdant landscapes surrounded by pink and white peony and chrysanthemum blossoms, each to a gilt and lacquered frame with bamboo motif. Each marked at upper left with red painted seal mark, possibly for Emperor Qianlong. Each framed approximately 19.625" x 14.625". Each sight size approximately 11.625" x 8.625".
