Ancient Near East, northern Iran, Amlash culture, ca. 1000 to 800 BCE. This is a very classic looking "fertility idol", hand sculpted from pottery, showing a female figure with emphasized thighs, a belly button, breasts, and a long neck ending in an indistinct head. An ancient example of a votive sculpture that many scholars associate with fertility. Size: 2.65" W x 6.75" H (6.7 cm x 17.1 cm)
