Description
Rome, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 4th century CE. This is an incredibly delicate miniature glass vial, pale blue in color, with shimmering irisdescent patina, a relatively thick base, and a thin flared, almost flat rim. This piece demonstrates the craftsmanship of blown glass in the period immediately after its invention. Size: 0.7" W x 1.8" H (1.8 cm x 4.6 cm)
