Description
Near East, Persia, ca. 4th to 2nd century BCE. This is a hollow pottery figure - potentially a mold - in excellent condition, showing a mostly naked woman with exaggerated thighs and hips, her hands held up by her face, wearing elaborate jewelry. She has a stylized, graceful face, and a largely undecorated back compared to her detailed front. The figure was probably made to be (or help create) votive offerings for temples, and has been excellently preserved. Size: 3.45" W x 7.4" H (8.8 cm x 18.8 cm)
