Pre-Columbian, Peru, Central Coast, Chancay, ca. 900 to 1200 CE. A carved wooden standing figure with an articulated arm boasting a typical mummy bundle face painted red with eyes comprised of black irises on white diamond-shaped sclera, a prominent turban with a black rim, a protruding straight nose, incised smile, and and overall abstract, angular body with straight legs. The overall form is characteristically abstract and pleasingly minimalist. Size: 14" H (35.6 cm)
