Half bound in black leather with marbled paper over boards. Spine lettered and decorated in gilt, with five raised bands. Top edge gilt. Marbled endpapers. Bookplate to front pastedown. Engraved frontispiece of King Louis XVI taking leave of his family in the temple. A quite lovely copy. Leather bound.

Condition

Good. Moderate edgewear, with heavy rubbing to edges of spine, light rubbing to gilt, and corners bumped. Frontispiece and tissue guard separating, but still attached. Foxing to pages throughout, with large circular spots similar to foxing to some pages, none of which obscure the print. Binding is sound, pages are unmarked.
