Horace Brown (Vermont, Illinois, 1876 - 1949) with Seattle Museum label verso. Oil on canvas of a factory village. Sight Size: 26.5 x 33 inches. Brown studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and the Art Institute of Chicago and was a pupil of John Carlson and John C. Johansen. Horace Brown's works can be found in the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia, PA (America's oldest museum), the Wood Memorial Art Gallery in Montpelier, VT, and the Art Museum at the University of Kentucky in Lexington, KY.
