Tennis - Greystones Lawn Tennis Tournament 1900 Gentlemen's Doubles First Prize C.O. Tuckey, Silver Inkwell by Hawksworth, Eyre & Co Ltd, filled.The Tuckey family have had a long association with tennis, Agnes Tuckey was the winner of the first Wimbledon mixed doubles in 1913. Agnes married Charles Orpen Tuckey and they played mixed doubles together. They had three children, Richard, Raymond and Kay. Raymond Tuckey won the men's doubles at Wimbledon in 1936 and was part of the winning British Davis Cup Team in 1935 & 1936. He and his Mother, Agnes, are the only parent and son to date to play together in the mixed doubles at Wimbledon. Kay Tuckey played at Wimbledon and reached the Quarter Finals being beaten by Louise Brough in 1951. She was part of the Wightman Cup Team from 1949 to 1951 and won several other tournaments. She also featured on the front cover of the Wimbledon 1951 programme. Kay passed away in March 2016 and the family have instructed us to sell the Tennis collection in order to split the proceeds between her four children. The family are still tennis crazy!
