An unusual model of the New York Central "Dewitt Clinton" locomotive and 3 coaches. This is an older model and it's fixed to the wooden scale track. The gauge of the track is 2.5". The locomotive almost looks like it's designed to operate on alcohol but there is no firing provision. The detail is exceptional. I thought the doors might even open. Construction is wood, metal and other materials. The coaches have brakes that move and operating spring suspensions. There are small rings that I think are replacements for link-and-pin couplers. Because it's pinned down to the track, I can't test the rolling motion

Auction attendees can easily get the model into the box with bubble wrap. Absentee bidders are faced with the shipping issue. The old cardboard box it comes in is 38" long. I would not ship it in this box. It's fine for just moving it locally or storage. An additional long box would have to be use. Because of this there will be a real delay in shipping this item to an absentee bidder. yyy
