Ancient Egyptian Bronze Fish Oxyrhnychos with Uraei ca. 700 B.C. Size: 5 inches length x 3 1/2 inches high. (13 cm length x 8.8 cm high).Cast bronze oxyrhnychos, Nile carp fish, wearing the royal horned sun disc crown and flanked by two Uraei, cobras. All set on an integral rectangular box base. A few remaining visible hieroglyphs on the sides of the box. Scattered encrusted blue-green surface patina with an under layer of red-brown.Provenance: Ex Arte Primitivo, NYC collection, acquired 1980s.
