Description
A late Victorian gold cultured, seed and split pearl fringe necklace, circa 1900. Designed as a series of three pairs of cultured pearl and split pearl flowers, with interspaced split pearl graduated fringe and detachable cultured and split pearl floral pendant. Length of pendant 3.7cms. Length of necklace 35.5cms. Weight 44.5gms. With case.
Overall condition fair. Surface scratches/ wear, discolouration and dents in keeping with general age and wear. Scratches and restoration visible to the reverse of many links. Three split pearls deficient. Several replacement split, seed and cultured pearls. Split pearls vary in shade, some are more grey and others more cream, several have gapping to the settings and visible blisters and blemishes.# Scratch to the box clasp. Some pitting visible to the cultured pearl in the floral pendant, areas of discolouration visible to the reverse. Box is not original and doesn't fit the piece.
