Center wood plaque has oil painting of Staubbach Falls Switzerland at Lauterbrunnen. Early on romantics and nature lovers made a pilgrimage to Staubbach Falls one of the highest free falling waterfalls in Europe. 1The poet Johann Wolfgang von Goethe is said to have been inspired to write his poem "Song of the Spirits over the Waters" by the Falls. Staubbach Falls is one of the 72 waterfalls of the Lauterbrunnen Valley and is 1 located right next to further water spectacles such as the Trümmelbach Falls, which are cut into rock. This tilt table top has detailed carvings and around the outer edge there are twenty-two smaller wood 1plaques with painted portraits of Tyrolean women, table is nicely carved with grape vines, flowers, leaves, scrolls and stippling, has three carved legs and measures 29 1/2" x 22" diameter.
