Germany, late 19th/20th century, shield-shaped porcelain urn form with entwined snake handles and pierced covers, opposing oval reserves enclosed by gilded ribbon and flower frames show four different painted scenes possibly after Boucher with figures in an idyllic landscape, each urn rising on square plinth with acanthus leaves around base, body and foot joined with metal rod and nut, incised number in paste possibly "G59", and blue crossed-swords under foot, 12 in.,. Condition: possible repairs to rims of covers, chip on snout of one snake, repair to one snake, chip to one antler ball at tip of cover.
