Portrait of a Middlesex, Massachusetts Boy, by family tradition Benjamin Brown (1728-1801), unsigned, oil on canvas, 30 x 25-1/8 in.; modern painted wood frame,. Condition: lined with paste and linen, restretched on newer stretcher, craquelure, areas of overcleaning and retouch. Notes: Benjamin Brown was the son of Susan Farwell Brown (1702-1778) and Deacon Benjamin Brown (1701-1768) of Middlesex, Massachusetts.
