Description

[Newdegate (C.N.)] Sketches from the Washington Races in October 1840 by An Eye Witness,3 hand-coloured lithographed plates by C.N.Newdegate, each with quatrain printed beneath, plate 1 rather browned, particularly at edges, all slightly creased and frayed at edges, plates 2 & 3 with repaired tear to lower margin, loose as issued in original printed wrappers, contemporary ink inscription "The Lord Brook" at head of upper wrapper, rather soiled, lower wrapper torn and repaired, preserved in modern morocco-backed drop-back box, folio, n.p., 1840.
