A unique hand-lettered flag stone with the lyrics to Harry Chapin's song, 'Corey's Comin'. This piece and the custom wood stand were commissioned in 1995 by Marjorie North. Expertly lettered by a professional calligrapher, signed on the face and dated 1995, thought to be a one-of-a-kind piece considering. PROVENANCE: From the estate of Marjorie North, Herald-Tribune editor, reporter, columnist, author and playwright. From 1985 until her retirement in 2008, Ms. North wrote the column ‘Let’s Talk’ for the Sarasota Herald Tribune and because of her ability to listen and to promote events which strengthened the community was considered a driving philanthropic and social force. Her involvement extended to the Herald-Tribune’s annual Golden Gavel Awards, which recognized outstanding achievements among non-profit organizations. In 1999 she was inducted into the Community Video Archives Hall of Fame.
