Description
hallmarked, London, 1726, David Tanqueray, applied scroll handle and a stepped circular foot, with an engraved coat of arms, total weight 338gms, h 11.5cm note: Huguenot silversmith from St Lo, Normandy, who was apprenticed to David Willaume in 1706. Not free until 1722 but entered his mark as largeworker in 1713. In 1729 was appointed Sub-ordinate goldsmith to George II. He married Anne Willaume who carried on with her own mark after his death.
