1815 English George III Solid Sterling Silver Coffee Pot W/Wooden Handle & Ivory Finial Made in London by Samuel Hennell (680.3 Grams) - This coffee pot was made in 1815 in London, by famous silversmith Samuel Hennell. This is a very rare, earliest form of a perculating pot called a "Biggin" coffee jug. The top edge has gadrooned borders, while the circular foot is also gadrooned. The piece has a hardwood handle and an ivory and sterling finial. Both the base and under the lid are hallmarked with the silver standard mark and the hallmark for 1815, and the base is also hallmarked for Samuel Hennell, the London city mark, and the mark of King George III. The piece measures 9"H x 8.5" (spout to handle).
