Ten Pieces of Chinese Export Porcelain in the Famille Rose Palette, fourth quarter 19th century, Ch'ien Lung period, nine of the pieces with Mandarin decoration on the center panels, including a platter with notched corners, the borders painted with scenic panels, w. 12-3/4", d. 9-1/2", a small punch bowl with a diapered border, h. 3-1/4", dia. 7-3/4", a hexagonal teapot stand, dia. 5", a tea bowl and saucer, h. 2-1/4", dia. 4-3/4", a plate in a "Rockefeller" pattern variation, dia. 9", a guglet decorated with Mandarin scenes framed in black scrollwork on a gilt ground, on a pierced wooden stand, h. 12-1/2", dia. 4-1/2", and three saucers, dia. 5" to 5-1/4". Provenance: The Estate of James C. Westerfield, Jackson, Mississippi.
Condition
The punch bowl displays restoration in several areas, one vertical hairline and a small rim chip. The teapot stand has some surface wear, but no chips, cracks or restorations. The platter has a 1" x 1/4" restoration to edge of rim. One saucer has several restored hair cracks to the rim. One tea bowl has a 1/4" OD chip and a 1/2" hair crack to rim. The Rockefeller variation plate has some rim restoration and touch-up to the painting. One tea bowl has a 1" hair crack to the rim. The guglet has some surface wear but no chips, cracks or restorations.
