Description
Group of four celluloid portrait and jugate buttons [3] and a stud [1]. Sizes from 7/8" to 1-1/4" diameters. Comprises: 1.) Filled back 7/8" and 1-1/4" versions of the same portrait design featuring Palmer's image flanked by U.S. and Cuban flags with imprint "The Red, White, And Blue / Will Free Cuba Too." 2.) 7/8" face-to-face jugate with Palmer and running mate General Simon Bolivar Buckner at center with imprint at top "The Courier Journal " and below "For An Honest Dollar." Retains Whitehead & Hoag back paper. 3.) 7/8" portrait stud with legend "For President J.M. Palmer." All items are mounted on an imprinted "Monroe D. Ray Collection" index card.
Condition
Buttons are in very good condition. Stud bears age-toning.
