Description
Chaim Gross (Austrian (active United States), 1904-1991), " Three Acrobats on a Unicycle"-1957, bronze with taper wood plinth base, inscribed to base "Chaim Gross 1957". Lively, naturalistically rendered figural sculpture depicting two acrobats atop the shoulders of a man riding a unicycle. Overall (with base) approximately 17.25" x 4.75" x 4.75". Note: Many of Chaim Gross' pieces depict the wandering performers he witnessed as a child at the circus. A larger version of this work is housed in the Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington, D.C.
